K Pharaoh

Formerly based in England, Native New Yorker K Pharaoh first ventured into the DJ world through college radio at Lehman City University in New York. His interest in House stemmed from a love for the music and an ear for the sound by visiting the most popular underground clubs and listening to radio shows hosted by DJs such as DJ Disciple, Frankie Knuckles etc. Campus parties and appearances across the city soon followed, gathering K’s popularity and experience from all over New York.

In the United Kingdom, K’s performed at various clubs and soirees across the land. 1998 saw a fantastic warm-up set for London KISS FM’s Bobby and Steve (Garage City/Soul Heaven). Later his talents brought him to the Ministry of Sounds’ ‘Baby Box’ to perform an extensive opening set for DJ/producers Dan Smith & Conan Manchester (Liquid People/Defected). He’s also had a one-hour mix aired on the east of England’s top regional radio station (VIBE FM) underground music program ‘Vinyl Decadance’. In 2002 he performed on stage at the Street Parade in Zurich, Switzerland and has since premiered as headline DJ for the inaugural Snow Parade held in the Swiss Alps in March 2003. Both nationally live televised events. In 2004 he performed in Lyon, France with return engagements throughout the city’s most exclusive clubs, as well as a set in Turnmills, London. 2005 saw the opening of his current weekly event, Radio Flair, in Cambridge. He’s toured through Croatia and Slovenia as well as performed live mixes for two top radio programs as well as a country-wide live television appearance and interview.

Then, K Pharaoh described his style as phat, funky, rhythmic and energetic vocal house with a Latin twist. His former internet radio podcast ‘Radio Flair’ (in association with his former website under the same name,) was presented with the belief that there’s more to House than just modern disco and its tougher edges. Presenting a return to the era where dance music suited all tastes and crossed all barriers describes his DJ sets best. His talents have put him in contact with promoters in Mauritius, Sweden, Argentina, India, Italy. K Pharaoh is currently based near Salt Lake City, USA with guest appearances for I Love Ibiza (www.iloveibiza.us), a big night in the region drawing the likes of Roger Sanchez, Jamie Lewis, DJ Disciple, Willie Graff, the Groove Junkies and more. K also maintained a Saturday night residency at the city’s most exclusive bar…the Pearl Ultra Lounge (formerly the Mynt Martini) (www.myntmartini.com). Here, he also promoted/played his Saturday night ‘Metro-Stereo’ monthly residency at the W Lounge in the heart of downtown SLC with dj partner Danny Dance ‘danceisafeeling.com’ (together known as the HausAddix.) All this, in addition to paying regular visits back to the UK for one-off events.

Plans for future? This dj’s sound has elevated to what he now calls cross-genre tech-house. From his current base in Stuttgart, Germany; K Pharaoh is pushing his live/recorded ‘Metro mixes’ via his online radio show at mixcloud.com/metro_stereo. His mixes are also available via soundcloud.com/kpharaoh and his website, Metro-Stereo.com (currently under construction.)

K Pharaoh is currently in search of both agencies and promoters to work with and expand his audience range.
